Many variations have been tried. Sometimes the distinction between them is blurred, for example the wings of many modern combat aircraft may be described either as cropped compound deltas with (forwards or backwards) swept trailing edge, or as sharply tapered swept wings with large leading edge root extensions (or LERX). Some are therefore duplicated here under more than one heading. This is particularly so for variable geometry and combined (closed) wing types.

Wings Sans is a condensed display typeface that builds its presence through subtle contrast and a strong rhythm.

Condensed typefaces hold a particular place in design history. From wood type used in posters and press headlines to advertising, sports graphics, and contemporary identity systems, narrow proportions have been used whenever type needs to stand out, hold a strong vertical rhythm, and capture attention.

Wings belongs to that tradition and updates it with a contemporary language.

Its condensed proportions create a distinctive texture, while controlled widths and spacing keep words compact without feeling forced. The result is a typeface with a strong presence, building dense, expressive compositions that stand out especially at large sizes.

There’s a sense of movement in its forms. Its proportions and tight rhythm give words an almost kinetic quality, particularly in headlines, sequences, and stacked compositions.

Wings Sans is designed for identities, posters, editorial projects, packaging, and sports and entertainment graphics — in general, for contexts where typography plays the leading role.
